Dirt and Gravel Road Program
The Lawrence Conservation District in cooperation with the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission and The Center For Dirt and Gravel Roads are implementing the program targeted at efforts to manage unpaved roads with an environmentally sound approach. The Conservation District works with the municipality to complete projects. Local municipalities and state agencies that maintain dirt and gravel roads are eligible to receive funding. Municipalities may become eligible to apply for the funds by attending a two-day training seminar presented by the Center for Dirt and Gravel Roads and the Conservation District. The Conservation District Board of Directors has appointed a Quality Assurance Board to review and prioritize applications. The Board consists of Jo Ann McCready, District Manager; Frank Romeo, District Board Member; Ed Petrus of NRCS; and Joe Morris of the PA Fish & Boat Commission.Technical and project planning assistance may be requested from the Conservation District.
